Belfry Bats

BELFRY BATS

College finished yesterday and Robby feels not well
He wants to see his teacher more, but he can go to hell
All I've heard for weeks and weeks is words about her looks
Robby hasn't bothered once to keep his mind on books

He's written songs of love to her, a fact he will concede
His verse is so descriptive too, on this we have agreed
But Really! Is she all that nice or is he having dreams?
She may have cast a spell on him, and not be what she seems

The doctor did an autopsy to check if he was dead
The answer was that Robby has a touch of lovesick head
It don't suprise me, not at all, he made himself quite sick
The words that he has written down, I know I wouldn't pick

There's affable and capable and gorgeous, stunning, pretty
In love that bad when he's so young is tragic, it's a pity
When all is said and done, it's true, she does have lovely eyes
But Robby writing songs to her, like that, is some surprise

When I was young and liked a girl, I'd merely quip “G'Day”
A simple greeting such as that is really 'cool' to say
But Robby waffles on with words, he makes me want to chuck
The men I know don't talk that way, they wouldn't write that muck

As Robby fell in love like this, I warned him let her go
The danger is that once love strikes it spreads quick, as you know
But I'm imune to all that stuff: the fancy words.......
Oh! Rats!
I'm feeling woozie in me 'eart, 'cause I think teacher's

She's Nice

A DESCRIPTIVE WORD

Hear what I've been thinking. I think, The lady's nice
But I can think of better words, the 'nice' word won't suffice.
Whilst adjectives describe a place, a person and all things
And nice is such a word as that, ask, Do you think it sings?

Thesaurus names all synonyms, so seek and you will find
Word look alikes, dead-ringers too, that best express your mind.
Try Pleasant, Friendly, Affable, Appealing to the senses
Stunning, Gorgeous, Beautiful, in past and present tenses,

Attractive, Comely, Elegant, Walks on a bed of Roses
One's hearts desire, Forbidden fruit, descriptive, as all prose is.
Exquisite, Dulcet, Ravishing, She takes ones breath away
Sweet, Winning, Lovely, Amiable, are heart felt things to say.

Gifted, Brilliant, Capable, Her voice ones heart excites
Who masters language much like this, a vivid essay writes.
Come on, search your memory through, more drafts, go do it thrice,
And find the words to tell the world she's truly;
very nice.
